Jeanne Thompson's Obituary
Jeanne Marie (Law) Thompson Age 88, of Tacoma, Washington, left her earthly dwelling on September 14th, 2012. Jeanne was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on April 26, 1924.
Jeanne was preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert Raymond Thompson, of 43 years. A faithful parishioner, Jeanne attended Saint Ann's Catholic Church of Tacoma for many years. She was also a long time member of the Catholic Daughters of America. In 1982, she started volunteering at the USO on McChord AFB; and in 1988, Jeanne began to volunteer with The American Red Cross at Madigan Army Medical Center, accumulating over 21,400 hours.
Surviving her are her children: Richard Lee Thompson of Tacoma, Robert Michael Thompson (Arlene) of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Patricia Christine Cowden (Steve) of Tacoma, John Randall Thompson (Eileen) of Tacoma; twelve grandchildren: Robert McKittrick, Stephanie Brownell, Richard McKittrick, Randi Van Vleck, Ann Thompson, Amy Lunsford, Robert M. Thompson II, Rebba Cooper, Jeremy Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Vincent Cowden and Richalie Vazquez; 14 great-grand-children and her siblings: Queenie Lance, Richard Law (Mary), and Alfred Law.
Preceding her in death were her parents Alfred Law, Elsie Mae Wilson and her brother, Cecile Law. Visitations will be from 2-8pm on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, WA.
Services honoring Jeanne's life will be held at Saint Ann's Catholic Church 11am on Tuesday September 18, 2012. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to St. Leo's Food Connection at 1323 South Yakima Avenue Tacoma, WA 98405. Jeanne will be remembered for her strength, tenacity, and generous spirit.
