Jeanne Pitt's Obituary
Jeanne Marie Pitt Age 80, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away November 7, 2012, surrounded by family. She was born July 29, 1932 in Longview, Washington, the daughter of Clarence and Mary McCaskie. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950, where she directed and was the baton twirler for Marchetta Ki with the marching band, and, to her family's amazement, could still twirl the baton. In December of 1950 she married her high school sweetheart, William. She worked as Secretary for Eastside Christian Church for 20 years. Those who knew Jeanne well knew her as a thoughtful and caring person. Her most important roles in life there those of wife, mother, and grandmother. Jeanne was an avid reader, she enjoyed canning food for her family, enjoyed summer time at American Lake with her children, and had a mind for math and figures. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Jeanne is survived by her husband William, son and daughter-inlaw William, Jr. and Donna of Gig Harbor, WA, daughter and son-in-law Judy and Ralph Lacher of Puyallup, WA, daughter and son-in-law Patty and Floyd Sanders of Puyallup, WA, brother and sister-in-law Donald and Gerry McCaskie of Lakewood, WA, and sister and brother-in-law Margie and Ben Madsen of Tacoma, WA. Jeanne was blessed with eight grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Barbara. The family is grateful to St. Joseph Hospital and Hospice for their care and attention to Jeanne. A service will be held at Fellowship Christian Church, 860 East 38th Street, Tacoma, on November 17th, 2012 at 11 am.
