Jeanette Marie Morrison's Obituary
Jeanette Marie Morrison, 87, passed away on August 8, 2014 in Tacoma, WA. She was born on December 3, 1926 in Portland, Oregon to John M. and Esther M. (Johnson) Kallman.
In 1945, Jeanette graduated from high school in Gresham, Oregon and in the years following, she always looked forward to attending her class reunions. Jeanette loved every year getting together with her classmates to remember the “good ol days”. On May 12, 1947, she married Donald Gene Morrison. For a time, she worked as a cashier for American Telephone Company and would later work as a bookkeeper at her husband’s law firm. She was quite the sporting wife. When Don took up golf, she was right alongside to be a part of that activity with him. Jeanette also took up trap shooting which she had quite a knack for. She was ranked third in the nation and was such a skilled shooter that men wouldn’t compete with her for fear of being beat by a woman. Not only could she keep up with her husband with golfing and trap shooting but also held a pilot’s license with a twin engine rating. Her family is going to miss her dearly.
She is survived by her children Bob (Lianne) Morrison, Lynne (Ivan) Schuening, Sherryl (Don) Kendall; grandchildren Brian A. Hayes, Christy Kuntz, Brian K. Kendall, Casey A. Morrison, Tyler L. Morrison, Niki Tran, Jessica Bivens, Hap Schuening, Kip Schuening, Anne Stewart and Todd Morrison; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A private family inurnment will be held at Mt. Calvary and Gethsemani Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
