Jean May Alstead's Obituary
Jean May Alstead
03/26/24- 01/06/09
On January 6, 2009 "Jeannie" passes peacefully at her home. A lifelong resident of Tacoma she graduated with honors from Clover Park High School and married Earl Alstead with whom she celebrated 64 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to her son Christopher Alstead who preceded her in death and her surviving daughter, Lynne (Alstead) Adam. Her 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her working career included Church Interiors and over 20 years as an Executive Secretary with the St. Regis Co. Mere words cannot adequately describe this truly gifted, complex and creative person whose faith, family and sense of humor kept her smiling through the pain. Possibly, a verse from her poem "Winter Melancholy" written on 1/15/75, might give you a glimpse into her beautiful soul. "Time an endless, shiny ribbon of a road, Bathed in all the glory of a rainbow; With each color so softly blended, As was each day - into a rosy glow." Jeannie Alstead, Author A memorial service will be held on Wed. Jan. 14th at 1:00pm at Mt. View Garden Chapel in Tacoma.
