July, 1970 will be forever etched in my mind as the day a lifelong friendship was born. That was the day i first met Jean….she welcomed me to the neighborhood and eventually would welcome me to her heart. Little did I know that she would become my friend, confident, mentor, family and so much more. She made me feel like I was her sixth child, welcoming me to her family, family dinners, camping, caring for me and my daughters, family celebrations and life’s tragedies as well. She escorted me through some very difficult times in my life and I truly hope I showed her the same respect. I’m fortunate to have had Jean as my friend….a treasure to walk through life with. Thank you Jean for allowing me to be part of your life and your special family, my second family.
