Jayne Kjellesvik's Obituary
Jayne was born October 6, 1920 in Leavenworth, WA and was raised on the family homestead up the “Chumstick”. She graduated Leavenworth High School in 1938 and worked her way through business school.
She met ray Miller there and they married in 1939 and had 3 daughters- “The Miller Girls.” Ray died of polio in 1952 and Jayne became a working single mother, which was a rarity in the 50’s. She was Mom, Dad, and breadwinner.
In 1971 she met and married Ed Kjellesvik and they had 15 happy years together before Ed Passed away in 1986. They enjoyed winters in AZ, their condo in Hawaii, KOA camping and road trips with family and friends.
A highlight of her life was a trip to Italy. Jayne was always ready to go anytime, anywhere and she was always doing something. Her resume would cover 70 years of jobs. From packing apples to real estate agent. She worked at F.C. Wolf & Sons, National Bank of Washington, and retired from the Milwaukee RR. After “retirement” she worked at the Sr. Aides Employment Program and into her late 80’s volunteered at The Life Center Thrift Shop.
Even at 93 she was alert, energetic, mobile, inquisitive, opinionated, and independent. Still very much involved in each out our lived and we are all in shock over losing her.
Her life was dedicated to her family, although in later years Tuesdays were dedicated to bridge. She was our family matriarch for many years! Jayne passed away January 26, 2014.
She is survived by her daughters Judy Kelley, Vicky Howry (Dennis Brewster), Beverly Miller (Mike Parker); 3 grandchildren Rick Lund, Randy (Beth) Lind & Stephanie Lawrence; 5 great grandchildren: Jeremy & Brandon Lind, and Austin, Joshua & Lilly Lawrence and a great great grandson Devin Lind. She is also survived by her brother Skip (Edna) Cromwell of Myrtle Point, OR and sister Peggy Bond of Lexington, KY; as well as her step family Kyle, Joanne, Kayla, & Kari Kelley of Sacramento, CA. She was predeceased by her parents Samuel & Mary Cromwell, and 2 brothers Charles and Robert Cromwell, a sister Eileen Trowbridge, and son-in-law Robert Kelley.
