Jayce Gamaliel Joseph's Obituary
Jayce Gamaliel Joseph dedicated his life to service through sports, mentorship, and family. From his first coaching whistle to his final day in Tacoma, Washington, he met every challenge with supportive, hardworking, and compassionate energy.
Born in Thibodaux, Louisiana, Jayce found early purpose on playing fields where teamwork mattered more than scoreboards. He carried that purpose into adulthood as a football and little-league coach, using each practice to teach confidence and resilience to young athletes who looked up to him.
Community members remember how he offered steady guidance well beyond the sidelines, showing that leadership is an everyday act. Whether organizing drills, sharing cooking tips, or planning outdoor activities, he modeled service that built trust across ages and backgrounds.
Jayce’s commitment to others was rooted in family. He is survived by his mother Brenda Raven, father Raymond Johnson Jr, daughter Shauniya A. McLaine, son Reesian V. Joseph, sister Delise Anderson and brother Kentrell Carroll who saw firsthand how mentorship shaped his role as a loving father, brother, and son.
His legacy lives on through countless players who now lead with the same confidence he sparked in them. As the community reflects on his life, the call is clear: keep investing time, patience, and heart in one another, just as Jayce always did.
