I wish I could have found her before she passed. I met her in 1969 while working at Safeway. My station was in front of the door and winter winds were coming inside causing me to be so cold. Jan had just stopped by the cleaners to pick up her beautiful pink cashmere sweater. When she saw how cold I was she gladly lent me her sweater and began a wonderful friendship. She was there in the delivery room when my daughter was born and she and Paul sent me beautiful coral colored glads. She even gave me a baby shower. I lost touch with them when I moved to Washington DC. I've often thought of them and when I moved back to Tacoma a few years ago tried to find her again. My heart is breaking with this news...I will always remember my aunties great love for all she came in contact with, her beautiful smile, sense of humor and how incredible she was always put together... you never saw her without her hair done, lipstick in place and smile on!! The time she let me come over and do ceramics with her...and the Reno trip in the camper with the cousins, her green thumb in the yard, and the special friendship that she shared with Gerta!! The world lost a BEAUTIFUL LADY...but we all gained a guardian angel to look out for us!! Much love to Uncle Wayne, David and Family, Mike and family, Brian and family, and Paula.
