Janice (Jan) Hopkins Farning's Obituary
Jan was born on February 8, 1934 in Tacoma and passed away on October 21, 2021. She was preceded by her Mother in October 1996 and her Father in September 1999; and cousins Lois and Darlene.
She is survived by her husband Terry, son Steve, wife Valeria and children Nicole, lsabelly and Miguel in Brazil, daughter, Janine, husband Lee and grandson Robert. She is also survived by her brother Gary & Toni, and sons Greg, Mark (Rachel), daughters Elizabeth and Clara; David and daughter, Gracie and sister- in-law Doreen, son Ole, wife Tracie, and their four children. She was preceded by their beloved dog, Candy, who was loved for 17 years.
Jan graduated from Lincoln High School in 1951, attended Beutel Business College, then worked at Pierce County Hospital, Kirby Vacuum, Syndication Services of Washington and retired on February 7, 2014, after 26 years, and at the age of 80, at United Way of Pierce County in the Finance Department and Gifts in Kind Program; she then volunteered in the Gifts In Kind Program until 2020..

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
