Janet Louise Barr's Obituary
Janet was born on February 26, 1961 in Tacoma, Washington to Mary Louise Barr and Walter Johnson. Janet's education began at Birney School before she transferred to Lister. She went to McIlvaigh Junior High School and graduated from Lincoln High School. After receiving her bachelor's degree in Library Science from the University of Washington, she went onto work at Madigan Army Medical Center.
Despite having hearing problems, she loved music -" especially live concerts. Stevie Wonder and Carlos Santana were particular favorites. She was an avid reader and preferred fantasy and science fiction novels. An accomplished home chef, family and close friends loved her baked goods. Janet embraced the information technology age and was a computer wiz.
On December 1, 2010, Janet quietly passed away at her home in Tacoma. Her concern for others and quiet humor will be long remembered by those who knew and loved her.
Janet is survived by her mother, Mary Louise; sister, Joyce; brother, Thomas; niece, Natasha; and by cousins and close friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Walter Johnson.
