Janet Hodgdon Riggers' Obituary
Janet Hodgdon RiggersBorn February 26, 1924 in South Bend, WA, to Wayne and Lucile Hodgdon. Our beloved Mother and Nana joined her parents and husband Ed Riggers on March 12, after a lengthy and courageous fight with AlzheimerÂ's.MomÂ's life was one of activity and service. She was an active life member of Warren Chapter #178 of the Eastern Star and Warren Rainbow Assembly #79, where she held many local and state offices. She was also a member of Zora Temple Daughters of the Nile, marching in the patrol for several years. She loved Rainbow and always had time for her "Rainbow girls."MomÂ's love of life is a legacy for her family and friends. She was always ready to go-somewhere, anywhere, and lunch out was a must with her friends. She also loved traveling with her son until her illness sidelined her. To define mom in one word, would be "feisty," which she was until the end. She will be missed by her three children: Diane Carlson (Dick), Mary Schwab (Terry) and David Riggers (Kim), five grandchildren: Laura Moe Genther (Jon), Meghan and Bryan Schwab, Aubrey and Brenden Riggers, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A special Thank You to Robin and Sharon for their loving care of our mom. Thank you Mom for always being there for us, we love you and weÂ'll miss you.In lieu of flowers please make donations to AlzheimerÂ's Association, 12721 - 30th Ave. NE, Suite 101, Seattle, WA 98125.Service will be Monday, March 17, 2003 at 3 PM at Mt. View Celebration of Life Center, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Tacoma.
