Jane Olson's Obituary
On August 4,2021 the Olson family was left with a huge hole as we lovingly sent our Mother into the arms of her precious son and family waiting with God in Heaven.
Jane Tallman was born to Gertrude and Lester Tallman on August 14,1938 in Tacoma ,Washington. Jane was one of nine kids raised on Salmon Beach .She enjoyed fishing with her dad and was a second mother to her younger five siblings.
As a young , gorgeous red head she caught the eye of her soulmate Gilbert on Salmon Beach , they were married on September 14,1956 . They have four children ,Pam Morris, Gilbert Olson Jr. (Rene’e),Sheryl Huskey and her “ precious “ son Richard who passed in 1981. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren who are her world.
They moved to Roy in 1969 to raise their family. Jane had many lifelong friends and enjoyed PTA, Pinochle and Junior Rodeo groups. Jane worked at Silvaseed in Roy for many years. She enjoyed gardening and was very artistic as she handmade ceramic dolls, quilts, knitted baby blankets and sweaters that her grandkids treasure. Camping with the kids on the river and Disneyland trips were her type of vacation.
What really made her the happiest was having her kids and grandkids together on holidays and making birthdays special. She was our pie baker and passed on her secrets crust skills. She put everyone of us before herself and we miss her humor , forever bond and endless love for us. She treasured every grandbaby and always had the kids at her house. She left the Grama bar very high for the rest of us.
Jane battled Alzheimer's disease with humor, love, strength, sarcasm, and courage as she did everything else. Gilbert more than rose to the occasion and cared for her at their home of over 45 years until she took her last breath with him by her side . She gracefully left us in the home she created for us all while we struggled to let her go.
You are welcome to attend the Graveside Service on August 13,2021 at 1:30 pm at Mt. View Funeral Home.
