I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Although I had lost touch with Jane over the years, she was a very close childhood friend and I had thought of her fondly throughout my adulthood, wondering where life had taken her. As a child, Jane struck me as a vibrant and fearless, highly intelligent, compassionate girl, with a deep love of all living creatures. Clearly, these qualities followed her into adulthood. I have many fond memories of our time together, years ago, and feel fortunate to have had my early life touched by such a wonderful spirit. Jane was my first friend here in Washington almost 3 years ago. We moved in to a house where Jane and John board horses. She and John have had a huge impact on my small son's life (now age 6). His name is Nathan but she coined him the name, "Stinkbinder". Almost all Nathan knows about horses he learned from Jane. Jane was expressive about appreciation. We often said to each other, "I'm so glad we got to see each other today." The last thing she said to me was that she valued my friendship. I will miss her so. We will be praying for your family.
