Jane Adler's Obituary
Jane Adler left us suddenly to be with the Lord on May 20, 2010. Jane was born January 15, 1944 in Seattle,EWA. and after moving from Bellevue, WA. she was a long time resident of Tacoma,EWA. Jane had the hardest job ever, being a homemaker. She was a tremendous wife, cook, mother, grandmother, and loved to entertain. She was an artist, and was proficient in acrylic painting, watercolor, sketching, and charcoal. During her younger years she was a volunteer teacher at Remann Hall teaching art. She was always one who could talk to troubled children. She was a good listener and at times would counsel youth all night if it was necessary. She just had a gift with children. Jane belonged to the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for 27 years and was a past member of the Tacoma Yacht Club. She spent 25 years traveling by boat to the various islands and Desolation Sound. Her warm and outgoing personality with her unbounding energy and tremendous sense of humor won her many friends in a large diverse circle. Some of Jane's greatest qualities were her generosity and kindness. Everyone loved Jane. She had a fantastic imagination. Her scrapbooking was amazing. She was talented in designing and making jewelry. She did stamping and made homemade cards for every holiday, sending them to many friends and relatives. Jane spent her happiest hours in Florida, traveling there every year for twelve years. Although she traveled the Southeast, Eastern Seaboard, and the entire state of Florida, her most fun was in the area of Disney World. This was her fantasy world and she spent 3 to 5 months in that area traveling in and out of the various theme parks.
Jane is survived by her husband Dennis Adler, son Trevor Adler and his wife Andrea, sister Sherry Knapp and her husband Charles, sister Wendy Thompson and her husband Jim Gretchen Giacobazzi, step daughter Cheryl Stacy and step sons Mark and Michael Adler. She has eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
