Jamie Nelson Powell's Obituary
Jamie Nelson Powell was born April 8, 1966 in Morganton NC. Jamie was taken home by the Lord January 19, 2008 at a tender age of 41. He died at home in Spanaway surrounded by his cats Latenite, Starlite, and Starbrite and best friend David. He is survived by his mother Janet Smith, stepfather Marion of Hickory NC; father Nelson Leon Powell of Morganton NC; sister Tammy Hefner of Hickory NC; maternal grandmother Virginia Bell Huffman of Morganton NC; paternal grandmother Bertha Powell of Valdese NC; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Jamie never forgot his roots. He loved playing the piano and organ. He would always tell everyone he met and wanted to know about him that he loved gospel music, playing the piano and organ, and good old southern cooking. Jamie was a long time employee of America's Credit Union, Ft. Lewis WA. Funeral Services will be Friday January 25, 2008 at Mountain View Funeral Home in the Garden Chapel at 11:00 AM.
