James George "Woody" Woodward's Obituary
Our beloved James George “Woody” Woodward, 83, passed peacefully, surrounded by family and embraced by love, holding the hand of his wife as he took his final rest.
Woody was a happy and generous man who truly loved life and carried an unmatched positive outlook that uplifted everyone around him. He lived each day to the fullest, finding joy in both simple moments and grand adventures, and he shared that joy generously with family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Woody proudly served in the United States Army prior to joining Kmart Corporation where he retired as a General Store Manager after 30 years. He finished his work career as a bus driver for North Thurston County School district. Everything he did was a reflection of his dedication, strength, and character. For 30 years, he was a proud member of the Elks, where he valued fellowship, service, and community. Woody loved traveling, Celtic music, fine liquor, bowling, and—most of all—making people laugh. His humor and warmth could light up any room, and his laughter will be deeply missed.
Woody’s legacy is one of unconditional love, exuberance for life, and unwavering positivity. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his sister, his devoted wife, his loving daughters, his cherished grandchildren, and his adored great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry his spirit, humor, and love forward in their lives.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Elks Charitable Fund or charity of your choice.
