James T. Taylor's Obituary
JAMES TRACY TAYLOR
Born October 20, 1928 in Junction City, AR to James Otis and Ettie Mae Taylor, he was the second of four children. Tracy, as he was known to his family and friends, was very athletic and loved baseball. He graduated from Parkers Chapel High School in 1946 and enlisted in the United States Air Force (then known as the Army Air Force) shortly thereafter.
During his tour of Duty in the United States Air Force, he was stationed at Keesler AFB, Kadena AFB, Fairchild AFB, Yakota AFB, Sheppard AFB, Altus AFB, Larson AFB and McChord AFB, where he retired as Master Sargeant in 1969. while stationed at Fairchild, he met Willadean Cook at the local roller skating rink, with whom he celebrated forty-eight years of marriage. James T. Taylor served twenty-three years of honorable and faithful service to his country in the United States Air Force. He loved his country. He loved God. He loved his family. He was a quiet man with a gentle sense of humor. Whenever someone came up to him, his favorite quote was, -Å"Whatever it is, I didn't do it!- He also loved his coffee, never turning down a cup of coffee no matter how much coffee he'd already had during the day.
His service to God was just as important to him as his service to his country. Very active in his church, he had served God and his church as a bus driver, Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon and did maintenance in the church and on the church grounds. Wherever there was a need, he was there. He lived to serve.
He is survived by his children, James Michael (Beverly) Taylor of Lake Stevens, WA, Wayne Taylor of Tacoma, WA and Susan Taylor of Tacoma, WA; sisters, Rava Lee Reed of Hamburg, AR and Syble Taylor Barker of El Dorado, AR. He also leaves two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Willadean and his brother, Lavon Taylor of Dry Creek, LA.
James was blessed with a long life. God was very gracious to James when He took him home on December 11, 2011 at age eighty-three. He left us peacefully, in his sleep, after having a cup of coffee.
