James Leon Rogers' Obituary
James Leon Rogers passed away at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA on Tuesday July 23, 2013 at the age of 68. He was born on April 14, 1945 in Guthrie, OK to Elven R. and Hildrith I. (Miller) Rogers.
James served in the U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret in the Vietnam War where he earned three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. After retiring from the Army, James worked for the Washington State Corrections as a Corrections Officer and was a Culinary Arts instructor at Pierce College.
He will forever be remembered for his big loving heart, massive patience, masterful cooking and unconditional devotion to his beautiful wife Chun Cha.
James is survived by his beloved wife Chun Cha; daughter Juanita Cabugon; sons David and James; brother Kenneth Francis Rogers; sister Ida Mae Rogers; grandchildren Jonathan Halliburton, Michael Rogers, Amanda Rogers, Jasmin “Sam” Cabugon, Autumn “George” Cabugon and Logan Cabugon.
Graveside service will be held at 3:30pm, Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Mountain View Cemetery.
