James Patrick Walls' Obituary
James Patrick Walls
James Patrick Walls (Jim) was born November 27, 1938, in Seattle, Washington. He graduated in 1957 from Tahoma High School in Maple Valley, WA. Jim is survived by his wife, Sharon; three sons: Bill (Cathy), James Timothy and Daniel (Melissa), two daughters: Colleen and Victora, nine grandchildren: Sierra, Kyle, Kelly, Christopher, Matthew, Zachary, Levi, Ashlyn and Hailey, his mother, Marguerite and sister Diane. As a young man he served in the army. He was a working longshoreman for almost thirty years. Jim held the office of business agent for local 23 of the I.L.W.U. He retired from longshoring in 2003. After retiring, Jim and his son, James started their own business, Advance Cash. He has fished commercially, for salmon, in Cordova, AK since 1983. Before that, he fished the Columbia River, and Willapa Bay and Puget Sound areas. He was a member of the Elks Club in Valdeze, AK. Jim had many loves: his family, hunting and fishing, his business, and lately, his writing group, in Key Center, WA. Jim was a very talented man, who loved life and was much loved. He always said he was never happier than when he had the wheels of his truck under him, heading out on another adventure. He's done it again....heading out on another great adventure, this time with wings. Memorial services to celebrate Jim's life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 28, 2009 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cardiology Program at Tacoma General Hospital, P.O. Box 5296, Tacoma, WA 98415. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 584-0252.
