James P. Stafford's Obituary
Jim passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 30, 2005, at Allenmore Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born in Catchings, Mississippi. He retired from the U. S. Army in 1974 after over 20 years of service including a tour in Vietnam. He has been a Lakewood resident since 1963 and retired from Pierce Transit as a Bus Driver in 1994. He had a passion for motorcycles, fishing, and loved telling jokes. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Hiroko, who went to be with the Lord November of 1968. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, U-Ra Stafford, and his three children Jerry (Robin), Linda and Mike; seven grandchildren Bridgette (Adam), Michael, Jared, Theresa (Ryan), Melissa, Amanda, Becca and two great-grandchildren Adam and Lukus. He is also survived by his sister Floy Jean, who resides in Murfreesboro, AR. A private graveside service will be held prior to an open memorial at Mountain View Garden Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005 at 1:00 P.M.
