James was born on July 6, 1942 in Oakland, California to Lee Roy and Ellen Hughs. He passed away on January 29, 2009 in Puyallup, Washington. James worked his entire life as an auto body repairman.
James is survived by his wife Sandra, daughters Cheryl and Tamara, son James, grandson Steven, and four sisters and one brother.
