SGM James Melton was one of my top heroes! While we were serving together in the Army, I got to know him. His leadership is second to none. He always spoke the truth like a straight arrow. SGM Melton was a true leader that possessed honesty, compassion and trustworthiness. He provided selfless service to the Army and his division workplace. He took care of his troops like his own family. He loved God and lived his life exemplary like the heart of Jesus. He loved his wife and his children like no other and was proud of his sons and daughter's military careers and their west point graduates. I'm honored to knowing him and treasure the time serving the U.S. Army with him at Madigan Army Medical Center. I always admired his leadership and his ambitions and the positive outcomes. It was his nature to lifting people up and bringing positive things out of each person and praised. I will be greatly missed. As matter of fact, I was searching for him last summer before he went to heaven. The Holy Spirit led me to look for him and pay a respect, but I could not find him in the search engine through the internet. I wish I had contact information. Last night, I was cleaning my desk and found his card. My heart sank, because I missed an opportunity to see him before his departure. Now I realized that he is in heaven, God will embrace him and keep him by his side. God bless you SGM. Melton! You will be greatly missed by many people.
