We served in the Philippines and Veit Nam together in the 1st Mobile Comm Group. With Honor. Red was a dedicated troop, a hard worker and a loyal friend. With a moment of grief and some shock I opened the photos of his Memorial Service. He has passed to a greater place returning through clouds of glory! Jim was a volunteer for us at Madigan Outpatient Pharmacy, he will be missed greatly by all staff. He always came and volunteered for us with a smile on his face and I never heard one complaint. I enjoyed working with him at the refill window and got to hear about stories of his time in service, and of other life stories. Almost every day Jim would take his break and go get a cola to put peanuts into it, I thought it was strange until he explained that many people did it when he was growing up. I enjoyed his stories and will miss him greatly.

Although we will not be able to attend the services for Red we want the family to know our prayers and sympathy are with you. Bill and I enjoyed Red's visits when he came back to Iowa. He was proud of his family as he shared "their" stories. We will miss his visits but if you are ever back our way please stop to say hello.
