James was my mother’s (Sarah) oldest nephew. He and Maggie never missed a holiday or birthday without sending her flowers. He was full of knowledge and has plenty of jokes. They would talk for hours about people them two only knew. James will dearly be missed.
He was everyone else’s gentle giant but he was my hero. His love for me was known by all who knew him and I was blessed to call him my daddy.
Hearing from so many that lived him and the stories of how he touched so many lives and hearts brings me joy. Keep them coming 🙏🏾

My dad was a one-of-a-kind man. There will never be another like him. To know him was to love him AND ALL of his jokes and stories that came with the giant package. I know that many of those stories included me, because without a doubt, I was daddy’s little girl. Always have been and always will be. 💜

Mr. James was the coolest Uncle. I remember when I first met him, he would use a camera to catch candid moments of all our family gatherings. He was a family-oriented guy and fitted in easily with our family. You will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved you.
Definitely a gentle giant. One could see it in his smile, which was always present. He became my brother from the moment we met. Oh my gosh, I'm going to miss him and our little fair weather chats. Love you brother!

Our story is of being blessed a second time around. We told the good Lord that we would not take His blessing for granted. We lived, laughed and loved❤️😍🙏🏽To God be All the Glory🙏🏽
I first met Mr. Leggett at an "In Touch" dinner. At the dinner he was asked to tell a joke. It was such a great joke. I told him I was going to use his joke myself when an opportunity presented itself. He told me he was just fine with that. Well everytime I told his joke I thought of him. The nice thing about Mr. Leggett is most times I saw him he would take the time to tell me another joke and we would have a laugh together. God Bless him. I will miss him. Alton Edwards
