James Lewis Kelly's Obituary
James L. Kelly was born on July 30, 1950 and departed from his family on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Tuesday afternoon was a very devastating day for the immediate family, we knew his illness was taking his body and will to live but we all prayed and wished he could fight and be strong enough to survive. James was a strong presence in this family and will be greatly missed as a father, grandfather, and friend.
James was born to Hattie (Williams) Kelly, mother and James Sullivan Kelly, father. Both parents, grandfather, grandmother, numerous Uncles and Aunts, and three siblings preceded him in death.
James grew up and lived the majority of his early life in Rayville, Delhi, Monroe, and Shreveport, cities located in Louisiana. He attended school, worked, and left to join the military. He was in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge in 1977. While stationed at Fort Lewis he enjoyed the city of Tacoma area so much he returned to live the rest of his life here. During this time, he met his wife, Shelia (Brown) Kelly and created three daughters, Qiana, Shonna, and Catina. James is a grandfather to his grandson, Shaw Jr. Daughters and grandson are living in cities of Spanaway, Parkland, and University Place in the State of Washington.
James always had a soft spot in his heart for his children from present and previous relationships. His son, Kamiah (nickname Peanut) who lives in California and his daughter, Tracy, who lives in Louisiana. He loved them dearly.
James has numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, grad relatives, friends, associates, and buddies living in states as Louisiana, California, and cities as Spanaway, Puyallup, Tacoma, Renton, Seattle, and any city or state I may not have included.
