James Jones Jr.'s Obituary
James “Jim” Jones, Jr., 82, passed away on May 31, 2019. He was born in Birmingham, AL on March 1, 1937, the son of Emma (Nicholason) Jones and James Jones, Sr.
After graduating from High School, Jim played semi-pro baseball in Seattle before he started his career. Jim was successful and became the first black owner of an Autobody and Detail shop in Tacoma.
He is survived by his children, Caline Jones, Calvin Jones, Corey Jones, and Tony Jones; step-children, Renee, Martinez, and Serena; grandson, Cameron Jones with a host of many others; one great granddaughter; partner, Pearl Isom; brothers, Robert and Eddie Leach; and former wife, Anita Cormier. In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by his daughter, Annette Jones; step-daughter, Lisa Humberg; grandson, Tony Jones, Jr.; brother, John L. Leach; sister Barbara Leach; grandmother Mattie Nicholason; and former wife Karen Jones.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, June 15, 2019 in the Aspen Chapel at Mountain View, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood.
