James Freeman Gobeyn's Obituary
James Freeman Gobeyn (October 2, 1930 - January 9, 2019). James was in the Air Force for 26 years and a Veteran of the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. After retiring in 1976, he did landscaping and construction. He enjoyed stamp and coin collecting and spending time with family, friends and his many pets. James is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley, four children, Gerald Gobeyn, Lucinda Overton (husband John), Holly Bianchi, and Mark Gobeyn (wife Susan), grandchildren, Jeremy Overton, Michelle Sherrill (husband Ashley), James Overton, Vanessa Corr (husband Alieu), James Bianchi (wife Aubrey) and Stephen Bianchi, and three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Hailey, Ousainou, and Mitch.
A memorial service will be held January 23, 2019 at the United Methodist Church at Lakewood, 6900 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood WA. Viewing will be between 9:30 am and 10:00 am with a short service to follow. Graveside service will be at Mountain View, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood WA at 11:30 am with a reception and light refreshments to follow in the Willow Room.
