James Gary Kuklok's Obituary
James Gary Kuklok passed away November 3, 2005, peacefully with Alice at his side at Franciscan Hospice House in University Place. He was 59 years old. Jim was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer one year ago, and he accepted his disease and survived much longer than medically anticipated. He is survived by Alice Askov Kuklok and their five children: Rachel Sprague (Gary), Adam Kuklok, Lilly Kuklok, Christopher Kuklok, and Emily Kuklok; three grandchildren: Brittany Finwall, Zachary Sprague, and James Hemenway; two brothers: Dennis Kuklok (Sue) and Richard Kuklok (Paula); and many other relatives and friends. Jim and Alice both grew up in Delano, Minnesota, and were married in 1967. Jim graduated from the University of Minnesota and from Hamline University Law School and spent most of his working career as a United States Army Lawyer. He retired from the Army as Lieutenant Colonel in 1992 and more recently retired from We the People, in Lakewood, where he worked for 13 years. Jim really loved the Army and the We the People business. Jim was very well known and respected in the community and he touched many people with his humor, love, and wisdom. Most recently, he was a member of Lakewood Elks Lodge, Lakes Moose Lodge, Tacoma Eagles, and the VFW. His passion was people. He would often Â"make his roundsÂ" and Â"pay his respectsÂ" to his many friends. His memory and love will live with all of us who knew him. Jim will be greatly missed. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, and Franciscan Hospice. Viewing will be held 9:00 AM Â- 9:00 PM, Tuesday, Nov 8, 2005, at Mountain View Funeral Home and 2:00 Â- 3:00 PM, Wednesday, Nov 9, 2005, prior to the 3:00 PM funeral service at the Mountain View Valley Chapel.
