James Lewis Flannery known as "Jimmy" to his family & "Jim" to his friends passed away peacefully @ Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, Washington .on Sunday, February 26, 2023
He was born in Tacoma, Washington on January 23, 1945 at Tacoma General Hospital. His Parents Elias George Flannery & Mother Catherine Cecile Murrah -Flannery .He was the 4th child out of 10 children his mother gave birth too. He always took "GREAT" pride in having "SIX" brother's & "Three" sister's. & being the " Oldest" Living "Flannery" boy.
He grew up traveling with our parents from Washington State, California, Nebraska, and ended up back in Yakima, Ruston, Tacoma Area where he meet his wife Sharon E. Rollings at Ruston Elementary School in the 7th grade. She was a "Good" friend of our Sister "Trish"
Jimmy, married his wife Sharon A. Rollings- Flannery on August 23,1963 in Tijuana ,Baja California, Mexico. when he was 18 years old. He worked in Los Angeles, California until he was Drafted in the US Army in May, 1966 .They traveled all over the United States & overseas. He retired from the US Army on August 30, 1990. Shortly after that they moved into the "Flannery" family home in Ruston, Washington. our
Mother, "Sold" him the family home for " ONE DOLLAR" He was so "PROUD" to get the "Family" HOME AT THE TIME. His nephew, on Sharon's side of the family caught the house on fire & they ended up fixing the house up and ended up selling it. He always "Regretted " SELLING THE Family home.
He than bought their home in Winlock, Washington. They always wanted to have a farm & live in the Country. He loved raising cattle & other farm animals. Our Uncle Wilbur Wallace taught him about Cattle. They loved going to Uncle Wilbur & Aunt Bessie house & play marbles & our Aunt Bessie was a fabulous cook. It was funny "Sharon" always accused other's of cheating even during 'family" pinochle games. Sharon passed away on August 22, 2000 at Providence Centralia hospital in Centralia, Washington. at the age of 53. They were married 36 years.
They never had any biological children of their own, but took 'Great" pride in their nephews & nieces when they graduated from High School or College or even married & had children of their own. Jimmy took "Great" pride in 'Jerrod" the "Only" Flannery era that had "Twin" boys. Luke & LJ "Little Jerrod" as they call him. to carry on the "Flannery" name. He really thought they "Looked" so much like their "Grandfather" "Our" Brother "Bobby" & was glad to see the "Flannery" name being carried on for future generations to come.
Jimmy went to work for Walmart after Sharon passed away in 1997 He worked for Chehalis Walmart in the maintenance dept. for 23 years until he retired in 2020. That is where he meet the "Love" of his life "HIS WOMAN" as he called Pam Shipp. They had a lot of fun together going out to eat , traveling to the beach, going on different trips. He even took her to meet Our half sister Donna in Eureka, California. She has been a "God" send in Jimmy's life & the Flannery Clan as we put it. She is like a sister, since our sister "Trish" passed away & has been the 'Flannery" sanity here lately. She will always remain part of the "Flannery" family even if they were "Not" legally married or lived together..
