Mr. Killam was our Red Cross volunteer in the Oncology Dept up until the end of last year. He always had a good story or joke for us and kept us laughing! My favorite was when he came in one day and said we could call him General Killam from now on. Come to find out, there were no handicapped parking spaces left so he used the General's space! An Army Sergeant walked up to him and said he needed to move his car. He said, "Sergeant, if the General shows up, have him call me at the Oncology Clinic!" We all laughed and laughed. Well, the General never did call so I thought he was teasing us. But as I watched him leave from my window, sure enough, his car was parked in the General's space! A Sergeant was waiting by the car for when he returned. I saw them exchange words and the Sergeant walked away laughing and shaking his head..... Only Mr. Killam could get away with that!
I could listen to his stories all day but he would tell me he needed to get charts made up for Rose!
His memory will forever be in my heart. I'm so glad I got to know him.##imported-begin##Jane Tarsia##imported-end##
