James Earl Burt's Obituary
James Earl Burt, Jr. Born April 23, 1921 in Evanston, Illinois to James E. Burt, Sr. and Addrena Scott Burt, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2011 in Tacoma, Washington. He served in the U.S. Army as a Supply Sergeant and was recognized for 40 years of service in the government. He was a devoted member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Tacoma, where he had served as a trustee and a member of the choir. He is survived by his wife Sylverine Fontenot Burt, children James Earl Burt III (Rosemary), Patsy Mose Fletcher, Murphy Mose, Deborah Mose, Kim Mose, and Pamela Mose Beard (Ronald), and brother-in-law James Kennedy (Loretta Burt); he is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters Rosalie Sherman, Beatrice Turner, and Loretta Kennedy, and his children Sarah Burt Kelley, Ric Mose, Carl Mose, and Gregory Mose. The viewing will be in the afternoon September 7 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services will be held September 8, 2011 at Bethlehem Baptist Church at 11 am.
