James H. Conklin's Obituary
Gone, but not forgotten!
James H. Conklin was born in Tacoma, Washington on February 2, 1945, the first son of James and Annie Conklin and passed peaceably on April 11, 2021. He was a 1963 graduate of Stadium High School.
Jim worked for his Dad during his high school years and joined the Navy shortly after graduating. He made the Navy his career choice and retired after 22 years. He went on to work for several different companies around the country. Returning home, he met Eva, fell in love, and married in 1988. They made their permanent home in Tacoma.
Jim was raised in a hunting and fishing family and continued to enjoy these activities throughout his lifetime. Nothing was ever wasted as he shared much of what he caught with members of his family and a number of friends. Outdoor barbeques happened often with venison and salmon on the menu. Jim will be remembered as a good and honorable man, giving to others in time of need and making lifelong friends readily.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Eva, his granddaughter, Courtney and two great grandsons. He is also survived by his siblings, Irene, Mary Ann (Mike) and John (Jackie), and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are three sons, James, Andrew, and Christopher.
At Jim’s request there will be no service and his ashes will be interred at Tahoma National Cemetery.
