James Carr's Obituary
James Lawrence Carr , 63, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 20, 2026. Born in San Francisco, CA on October 12, 1962 to Yvonne and James Phillip Carr, James was the oldest of two. He moved with his family to Pierce County WA where he lived for most of the rest of his life. James was an avid soccer player and skateboarder in his younger days and enthusiastic outdoorsman from young adulthood on. He enjoyed hunting, skiing, hiking, and developed a strong passion for fly fishing. His talent for tying flies was held in high regard by his peers in the fishing community. He was known for his infectious charm, lighting up rooms with his stories and humor.
James was a leader in the telecommunications industry, working in supervisory positions for many years.
James is deeply missed by his mother Yvonne, son Ryan, brother Kevin, and sister-in-law Joann. A viewing will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood, WA on March 18, 2026 at 10am followed by a service at 1:30pm.
