James Hyrum Bronson's Obituary
James (“Cowboy”) Hyrum Bronson passed away peacefully on January 22, 2016, at the age of 79.
Jim was born June 3, 1936 to James and Camilla Bronson in Burley, Idaho. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959, during which time he was stationed in California and Greenland. He married Linda Dubberke on October 29, 1969, they were married for 35 years and lived in Burley, ID.
He worked for JR Simplots in Heyburn, Idaho for over 30 years.
Jim enjoyed spending time outdoors, taking care of animals on the farm, camping and fishing. He liked reading and watching old westerns and he and Linda enjoyed playing pinochle and cribbage. He was a caregiver and spent most of his life providing support to his wife and children.
Jim is survived by his three daughters, Terry Steinmetz of Kimberly, ID, Dianna Gray of Bonney Lake, WA and Jami Brock of Bonney Lake, WA; one brother Robert (“Bob”) Bronson of Burley, ID and one sister Merilyn Reeves of Amity, OR. Grandchildren include Henry Gray, Amanda Gray, Haydon Brock and Adriana Brock.
He was preceded in death by his wife Linda; two sisters, Ruth Fuller of Spanish Fork, UT and Naomi Judd of Boise, ID and one brother, Karl Bronson of Payette, ID.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Idaho. He will be missed.
