James A. Berg
James passed away on 11/10/08 in Tacoma WA. He was born on 6/22/1949 in Charter Oak, IA. His early years were spent with family on the farm in Charter Oak and Mapleton. The family moved to Cherokee, IA in 1959. James' military career in the U.S. Army began in 1969 and he retired in 5/23/89 at which time he began his Real Estate Career. James' spontaneous sense of humor and genuine personality endeared him to everyone. Despite his last years of being medically challenged, he never lost his upbeat attitude and sense of humor. James is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Helen Berg Hall, sister Elaine Rupp (Royden) of Cherokee, IA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Pokhui, his daughter Sandra of Tacoma, April Zortman (David) of Hot Springs, SD, three brothers Bill (Sylvia) of Gig Harbor, WA, Jerry of Egan, SD, Ron (Mary) of Cherokee, IA, sisters Marilyn Stiles of Cherokee, IA, Jo Ann Reed (Ben) of Spirit Lake, IA, and a host of friends and relatives.
