James Alan Edenfield's Obituary
Born in St. Petersburg, Florida on July 29, 1941, James passed away at home in Tacoma, Washington on February 4, 2005, after battling cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends. After graduating from Franklin Pierce High school in 1960, he served in the Navy for four years and was on the USS Midway, as a singleman. Jim spent 20 years at the ASARCO smelter until it closed. After 16 years as a scalemaster at Joseph Simon and Sons Inc. Jim retired in December of 2003. He also worked a second job as a taxman, during tax season, going to his clients homes for over 30 years.Survivors include his loving wife, Maxine of 28 years, his daughter Christine M. (Jayson) Jones, sons James M. and Jeffrey A. Edenfield, grandson Hank Jones. Mother-in-law Genevieve Lovelady and sister Doreen (Palmer) Johnson all of the Tacoma/Lakewood area, sister Polly Box of Arizona. Brothers Phil (Sue) Edenfield, David Edenfield of Graham. Sister-in-law Dorothy (Ron) Koren of Minnesota. Brother-in-laws Garry (Barb), Guy (Linda) and Ed Lovelady all of Mossyrock, Washington, many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. His special buddy Joe Gavet of Tacoma, Washington.Funeral services will be held on 12:00pm, Saturday, February 12, 2005, in the Mt. View Celebration of Life Center. There will be a private family burial at Tahoma National Cemetery, in Kent, Washington, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of your choice, or the American Cancer Society.
