Jacquelynn Marie (Sorrensen) Thurman
Jackie resided in Mill Creek, Washington. She was born on January 25, 1932 in Longview, WA. Jackie went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer on October 6, 2008 in Tacoma, WA. Jackie grew up in the Kelso-Longview area and attended R.A Long High School where she graduated in 1950. On November 12, 1965, she married Home Improvement Industry Pioneer Stan Thurman. They moved to Bellevue in 1969 when they moved Pay ON Pak headquarters to Kent, WA. After Stan's retirement in 1995 they moved to Mill Creek, WA. Jackie's passions in life were God, her family, politics, gardening and golf. She was a pillar of strength. She was instrumental in supporting Stan throughout all of his business endeavors. She was a knowledgeable investor and personally met political leaders including Presidents and Governors. She and Stan travelled the world before wintering many years in Indian Wells, CA where they spent much time golfing. Everywhere she went Jackie would touch the lives of those around her. She attended Canyon Hills Community Church in Bothell, WA. Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Stanley Thurman. She is survived by her brother Ron Lindsey of Castle Rock, WA; her children Jed Jennings (Bonnie) of Kent, WA, William Jennings of Everett, Mishal Brown (Steven) of Gig Harbor; daughter-in-law Laura Jennings of Duvall, WA; step-sons: Kenton Thurman (Pam) of Kirkland, WA, Rodney Thurman of Longview, WA; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Life Center, 1717 South Union Avenue, Tacoma, WA 98405.
