Together Forever
Jacqueline (Boots) Harrell, 92, of Tacoma passed away peacefully on May 28, 2014. Born December 18, 1921 in Omaha, NE. Jackie & her husband, Bill, who proceeded her in death in 1997 after 58 years of marriage, moved to Tacoma in 1944. Jackie is survived by her son Bill Harrell, her daughter Jackie Kruse, and her daughter-in-law Jan Harrell all of Tacoma; three grandchildren: Tina Olson of Sacramento, CA, Billy Harrell and Kim Kruse, both of Tacoma; three step-grandchildren: Jason Nault of Olympia, Jarrod Nault and Tracy Perdue, both of Tacoma; five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, four step-great grandchildren and four step-great great grandchildren.
Jackie worked as a meat wrapper for Piggly Wiggly until her retirement in 1990. Jackie was preceded in death by her brother, Cliff Peterson of Omaha and her sister, Lois Hanson of Tacoma.
Jackie and her husband loved to bowl, play Bingo and travel. Jackie also enjoyed crocheting and made afghans for family and friends. She attended Life Center in Tacoma for many years. She was well known by her family and friends for her sense of humor and laughter. Jackie’s family is grateful for the care she received at Clare Bridge Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care in Gig Harbor, where she spent the last months of her life here on Earth. She is now with her loving husband in heaven where she wanted to be.
Funeral services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, Garden Chapel in Lakewood, Washington on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 12:00 pm. Viewing will be in the chapel preceding the service at 11:00 am.
