Jack W. Fanshier
June 23, 1918 - January 10, 2010
Jack was born to Thomas B and Francis Fanshier in Tacoma, WA. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1937 and Racine & Knight Business College. Jack served in the US Army and the Merchant Marines during World War II, stationed on Catalina Island, CA. Jack was preceded in death by son Warren E. Fanshier and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Marjorie, daughter Karen (Ernie) Alexander, son Wayne (Stevie) Fanshier, grandchildren Kristina (Darrin) Benko, Angela Bennett, Tara (Filisi) Heimuli, Erik (Erin) Fanshier, Marc (Naomi) Fanshier, Brandon (Ann) Howe, and great-grandchildren Mikel Fanshier-Best, Andrew Stephen, Aryanna Fanshier, Finian Fanshier, Teegan Benko, and Emery Benko. The family especially wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at Franciscan Hospice House who provided him with the most loving and precious care.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Lakewood, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Franciscan Hospice House, 2901 Bridgeport Way, University Place, WA 98466.
