We are so thankful for the countless memories of wonderful times with my Dad. He was a gentleman and a loving father; he was dedicated to Mom and our family and always enjoyed his time with us. When the doctor had to tell him that his time on earth was drawing to a close, she asked him if he was ready to go. He responded to her “No, I am not ready to go but God is in charge of that and I’ve had 95 years and a wonderful family and that is what is important. I have been fortunate”.
I think that is what Dad would want us to focus on—he felt fortunate—and I do feel incredibly fortunate and blessed to have had the Dad I had. He will be greatly missed.
Cards cards and more cards. Writing down all the things that people said in 30 years of cards, Telling Jack trump was diamonds and I bid on diamonds when it was hearts. And being told "don't let her tell me what trump is" thus when hearts are trump we call it "the other trump". Be blessed to know jack will always be remembered with a laugh and a smile and a deck of cards
Our sincere condolences are coming your way. What the world has lost, Heaven has gained. Jack lived his life well.
