Jack Gore's Obituary
Jack L Gore
02/11/1936 - 09/29/2011
Jack was born in Tacoma, WA to Clarence and Gladys Gore and passed away after a courageous battle with congestive heart disease and renal failure.
Jack worked at a number of occupations during his lifetime, welder for the Northern Pacific Railway, crane operator and supervisor for Ohio Ferro Alloys in the tideflats, truck driver for International Transport of Rochester, MN and Ready Mix Concrete in Lincoln, NE, millwright for Dickman Lumber Co, and retiring as an electrician with MA Segale General Contractors of Tukwila.
He was known by many different endearing names to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; "Grandpa", "Papa", or "Apple Jack",but no matter the name, he was deeply loved by all, and they were always delighted to see him.
Jack was very blessed to have spent his later years with a warm loving woman that he dearly loved. He was an easy going, gentle, lovable man who was instantly liked by everyone that had the good fortune to meet him. He loved trains, traveling and good old fashioned country music, especially when that music included some good guitar pickin'.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol A Gore, sons Ron(Treva)Gore, Fife, WA, Bill Eberhardt, Fredrick, MD, Rick Eberhardt, Tacoma, WA, and John (Sierenity) Eberhardt, University Place, WA, son-in-law Ronald G White, daughters Cindy(Ed Dewitz)Gore, University Place, WA, Kathy Gore, Tacoma, WA, brothers Bill Gore, Tacoma, WA, Ray Gore, Olympia, WA, and sister Gladys Goss, University Place, WA, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren(3 more on the way), a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and several hundred friends.
He was predeceased by parent's Clarence & Gladys Gore, brother's Don and Bob Gore, and daughter Becky White.
He had a special fondness for dogs, and all dogs, much like the people around him, seemed to gravitate to him, and instantly love him. He leaves behind an adorable little dog named "GiGi", and a certain pair of chocolate labs who lived next door will surely miss him as well.
Jack will be sorely missed by all as the world is now absent a truly nice guy. Anyone who wishes to honor him can easily do so by spending just one day being as nice a person as he was for 75 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday October 12th at the VFW Hall 4741 North Baltimore Street, Tacoma, WA, 98407 beginning at 1PM.
Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
