Jack G. Karsten
1/27/1928 - 10/2/2008 Of Spanaway, WA, formerly of Toledo, OH, died 10/2/2008 due to heart failure at the age of 80. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. He was employed by Interwest Development Co. Preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce (Bricker) Karsten, six children, Jack L. (Roberta), Janelle, Jamie, Jerry (Karen), Janis (Howard), and Jeffry (Nadine), 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Jim Bricker, sister-in-law Janelle Personius (Gordon), and 4 nephews. A member of St.John's Lutheran Church, Lakewood, WA. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 at 3:00 pm at St.John's. He was an avid animal lover; in lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Pierce County Humane Society in his memory.
