Jack England's Obituary
Jack was born Sept. 1924 and passed away April 26, 2005. He was born in California but grew up and went through schools in Tacoma, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1943.He enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and served aboard the USS Cowell for three years in the South Pacific. After the war he joined the Tacoma Fire Dept. and served proudly for 26 years.Growing up, Jack loved playing baseball and other sports, and never forgot the friends and the fun he had with them.Jack was a 35 year member of Fircrest Golf Club and a lifetime Mason. In the early years, Jack built homes in his spare time, and his retirement years were spent with Marge doing their favorite things; golfing, boating and spending winters in the desert and Hawaii. He also enjoyed going to his shipÂ's reunions.Jack is survived by his loving wife Marge, daughter Candy, sons Bob (Sally) and Bill (Sandy), grandsons Trent (Cheryl) and Alex, granddaughters Bonnie Zeitner (Eric), Amy, Betsey and, step grandchildren Megan, John and Sam Sweeney, 4 great-grandchildren, and cousin Jean. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother Bob.He got great joy from watching the children and their children and spouses grow into a big, wonderful, close, caring family.There will be no formal service, but the family would like those who know and loved Jack to join them from 1-4 on Saturday, May 14 at 881 Fox Dr, Fox Island.Remembrances to the Tacoma Fire Dept.
