Jack D. Fortenberry's Obituary
Born January 3, 1916 in Coahoma, TX. Died February 2, 2004 in Puyallup, WA. He was a gentleman, cowboy, jack of all trades, and a retired boilermaker. He also had a small logging operation in Arizona in the 1950Â's where he logged with a team of horses. His children didnÂ't think there was anything Dad couldnÂ't do. Jack was also an accomplished fiddle player and story teller. On February 24, 2001, he was preceded in death by his one true love, Gloria Lovegreen. Also gone before Jack, was his beloved father, Thomas Evin Fortenberry; mother, Emily Bell (Scharbough) Fortenberry; Siblings, Florence, Artie, Weldon, and Glen. Surviving, his sister, Jeanie Kasner of Sierra Vista, AZ; sons, Jack Fortenberry of Elizabeth City, NC, Donald Robinson of Medford, OR and Lewis Robinson of Carbonado, WA; daughters, Helen Bowen of ID Falls, ID, Bonnie Rossa of Yelm, WA and Darlene (baby girl) Gans of Orting, WA. He had an adoptive brother, Bob Cox of Wilcox, AZ. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. We will miss you Dad! Graveside services will be at 1:30p on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the Mountain View Funeral Home.
