Jack D Addy's Obituary
Jack Donald Addy, 86, of Tacoma, passed peacefully on November 17, 2019. Jack was born to William Lavern Addy and Violet Orrilla Hallett Addy in Park City, UT in 1933. The family moved to San Francisco and then Tacoma where Jack graduated from Lincoln High School. He worked for Boeing before being drafted into the U.S. Army. He served honorably in the Korean War and returned to work for Boeing as an electronic technician in the space program until his retirement.
In 1955 Jack met and married the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” Pansy Hockman. They were married for 58 years and had four children, Jenny, Jim, Gary, and John. Jack was a very loving and involved father. He was always helping others and was very involved in the community. Over the years he was a Cub Scout Master, Boy Scout Leader, Assistant Girl Scout Leader, recipient of the PTA Golden Acorn Award, was a member of the Bedrock Gold Club and the Paul Bunyan Rifle Club, and ran the Bethany Bounty Food Bank.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife Pat, and brothers William and Robert Addy. He is survived by children Jenny Fowler, and Jim, Gary, and John Addy; brother Tom Addy; grandchildren Tamera, Ryan, and Wendy Fowler; Julie Johnson, and Sara and Roslyn Addy; Alex Haak and Anna Addy; and great grandchildren Justin and Colin Gibbs; and Levi Mitchell.
A Funeral Service for Jack will be held Friday, December 6th, 2019 at 10:00 at Mountain View Memorial Park's Aspen Chapel with a Graveside Service with Military Honors to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to your local Food Bank in honor of Jack.
