Izac Turner Bellew's Obituary
Izac Turner Bellew, 87, third youngest of nine children born to Dozier and Mary Etta Bellew, April 8, 1927 in Oglethorpe, Georgia. Died January 14, 2015 at Madigan Army Hospital, Fort Lewis, Washington. He was an unpretentious and honorable man.
Izac was drafted into the US Army when he became 18 years of age in April, 1945. His first assignment was to Dachau, Germany. Upon returning to US, he met and married Rebecca Ann Land in Oglethorpe and set out on a life together that lasted 66 years. He and Rebecca had two sons born at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, NV. As a military family, they were posted at numerous military facilities nationwide and in Europe.He retired from the Air Force in 1975 and began a second career in the Civil Service until his final retirement in 1990.
Survived by wife, Rebecca Ann Bellew of South Hill, WA; son Douglas Wade Bellew and wife Jane of Bellingham, WA; son Allen Bellew and wife Janiece of Leavenworth, WA; grandson Forrest Bellew, wife Dana and great grandchildren Katie and Christopher residing in Fort Hood, TX; grandson Edward Bellew of Bellingham, WA; grandson Alex Bellew and wife Rosa residing in San Diego, CA; and grandson Brian Bellew residing in Denver, CO.
