Iyone M. Estvold's Obituary
Iyone Estvold, 83, beloved and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend went home to the Lord on May 11,2010. She was born January 15, 1927 in Plaza, ND. She resided in Tacoma for over 60 years. Iyone lived a life of faith, love, and generosity that inspired and touched those who knew her. Despite battling Alzheimers, her ready smile and good humor remained to the end. She will be greatly missed. Iyone graduated valedictorian of her high school class and worked at Pacific NW Bell until retirement in 1982. Her career was interrupted for 16 years while she raised a family of six children. She later volunteered many hours of service to others through her church, St. Marks Lutheran, and the Stephen Ministry.
Iyone is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Orville; six children, Parker (Norma), Terry (Kay), David, Dan, Greg (Jackie), and Penny Hansen (Dale); seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service and celebration of a life well-lived will be held on Sunday, May 16th at 3:00pm in the Tacoma Lutheran Home Chapel, 1301 N Highlands Pky. E. Memorial donations can be made to the Chaplaincy Endowment Fund at the Tacoma Lutheran Home.
