We are sad to announce the passing of Ivy on February 15th, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Ivy was born into a career military family in Winnfield, Louisiana to Dero and Lola Murphy. After she was born, the family was stationed in Read Obituary
I send my condolences. My favorite memory is when she quoted a line to me from Training Day. Lol I was thrown off. I love you, and so grateful for all the welcoming energy you gave me. Whenever I came over you wouldn't hesitate to make sure I was comfortable and even offered me my first vegan meal. Thank you for your energy and raising an amazing soul like Yami. You have done your part in flesh to the best of your ability, and your soul lives on. Rest
One of my favorite memories of Miss Ivy is when she asked me to sing at her friends funeral service. The fact that she coordinated a small service for her friend who otherwise probably would not have a memorial is very telling of who Miss Ivy was as a person. I also have fond memories of working with her in the community as well. To her loved ones I am thinking and praying for you at this time.
LaRena and I along with Damien, Kina, Liv, Christopher, Anna and Tim send our love and prayers of comfort to our dear cousins and all of the family.
So many fond memories of our times together in Los Angeles and West Covina. Our prayers are with Yami and the rest of our family during their times of bereavement.
