Isabel Ross' Obituary
Isabel Ross passed away at 90 at her home in Steilacoom May 9th 2014. Isabel was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col Edward K. Ross.
Isabel was a faithful Air Force pilots wife for 22 years, with 2 tours in Germany and 1 in Japan. She worked for the Steilacoom Police Dept. and loved her three boys and her home in Steilacoom. She enjoyed yard work, home making, and her town. She was born in Yakima and attended Yakima High where she met her husband Kirby Ross of Walla Walla. Her mother was a part of the Pinkerton's of Moro, Oregon wheat farmers that settled the land in the late 1800's. Her father was Mel Roy Eoff that passed away early in her life in the mid forty's. Isabel and her brother Robert spent summers on the wheat ranch gaining an early insight as to what that life was about. Her husband Edward Kirby Ross learned to fly from infamous Charlie MacCallister of Yakima and later joined the Army air corp to fly the p-38 during WWII. They married after the war and continued a life in the Air Force at McChord Air Base. Steilacoom was a natural fit for raising her three boys. Walla Walla Wa. was where Kirby's family resided and is the destination every year for reunions that his sister Nancy Ross hosts. Survived by her sons Bryan (Kaye), Craig and Bruce, grandson Brent (Laura)and sister-in-law Nancy. Donations maybe made in Isabel's name to Franciscan Hospice 2901 Bridgeport Way West, University Place, Wa.
A memorial service will be held in September in Walla Walla, WA.
