Irwie Campbell's Obituary
Irwie (Paine) Campbell Irwie Campbell went to be with her Lord on February 18, 2014 at the age of 92. She was born in Tacoma where she spent most of her life. Irwie graduated Valedictorian from Roland H.S. in OK. Upon returning to Tacoma, she worked as a cleric at the Mt. Rainier Ordnance Depot from 1943-1953. In 1953 she met the love of her life, Clifford Campbell, while on a blind date. They were married for 47 years. As a young woman, Irwie was a gifted artist. She also had a love for poetry and literature. Irwie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who always put the needs of others first. She is preceded in death by husband, Clifford Campbell, and siblings James, William and Mary Paine. She is survived by daughter, Joan Swan (Ken), and grandsons Derek and Aaron. The family would like to thank Irwie's caregivers of more than 10 years, Terry and Heather, and the staff at Good Samaritan Hospital. Memorials may be sent to Tacoma Rescue Mission or the ASPCA.
